The 1% Kid

Channing Chasten is a children’s author, motivational speaker, and former professional soccer player whose journey is rooted in discipline, resilience, and a love for the game. He began playing soccer at just three years old and grew up with a dream of competing at the highest levels. That dream led him to play Division I soccer at Ohio State University, where he developed not only as an athlete but as a leader and communicator.

Channing went on to play professionally for Phoenix Rising FC, turning years of dedication and hard work into reality. His experiences on the field—facing setbacks, staying consistent, and pushing through challenges—inspired the mindset he now shares with others.

Today, Channing uses his platform to inspire youth through his nonprofit The 1% Kid Foundation, school visits, and workshops focused on mindset, goal setting, and personal growth. His story is a testament to the power of practice, perseverance, and patience, and he is passionate about helping the next generation unlock their full potential both on and off the field.
