I'm not a developer and I don't run a company. I was the team manager at a club here in Portugal, and then we lost our coach and I ended up doing both jobs at once.
That's really the whole origin of this. One person holding all the information for a squad and also deciding who plays.
When the coach left, everything landed on me at the same time. The squad list, who was showing up to training, who was injured, and then on top of that the actual coaching — including deciding who came on and who came off, every single match.
The part that got to me was fairness. I was the one making those calls and I was also the only one keeping track of them, so there was nobody to check my work. I wanted every kid to get a proper share of the minutes, and I wanted to be able to show it if anyone asked. Doing that in my head, on the touchline, while managing everything else, wasn't working.
